In 1986 the customer-oriented company started in a small place with the development, manufacture and distribution of products for environmentally measurements in laboratory and related services. After recognition of the trend the market LAR was moving away from laboratory analytics towards online-analytics. Now, the product portfolio is characterised by self-developed, continually working online water and process analysers for industrial and municipal applications.

In 1989 the company was given a special award for environmental engineering by the federal state of Berlin for the EloxMonitor, an online-analyser for the measurement of chemical oxygen demand (COD). Ever since, customer-oriented development of innovative products has been cultivated as the core of the company's philosophy.
